Training Data

Another precaution needs to be noted in the context of fraud-detection with supervised methods. In most cases only a small percentage of fraud is identified and used for supervising a method. The result is that the method will only identify fraud which is similar to the already known fraud. To investigate other fraud-schemas we need to use unsupervised methods for finding general patterns which then can be tested for fraudulent behavior using external knowledge and/ or investigations.
